The Determine Plan Type Wizard

The APW can determine which Acquisition Plan Type you are required to complete as defined in OGP 2800.1. It has been designed to do this by asking you the fewest number of easy to understand questions as possible. So, if it seems at times like you are being asked irrelevant questions, please know that not only are these questions necessary, but they help document completely your compliance with agency policy. By using the APW you can rest assured that your plans are correct and complete.

The APW uses information you provide about your project to determine what Type of Acquisition Plan you need. The Determine Plan Type Wizard makes this as easy as 1-2-3 by asking for information about the procurement's:

  1. Estimated Value Larger procurements generally have more documentation requirements
  2. Contract Instrument Leases have their own plan types and GSA Schedules have streamlined procedures
  3. Complexity New or complex procurements generally have more documentation requirements With this simple information the Determine Plan Type Wizard can set up the correct Acquisition Plan Type for you.

If the conditions of your procurement change and you want to double check if the Acquisition Plan Type is still correct it's not a problem. You can always run the Determine Plan Type Wizard again any time before the plan is Submitted for Approval.
